The Big Idea

Local Carbon Networks will make carbon capture global, local, and common.

The Local Carbon Network creates the operational clusters to deploy innovative technology and complete the green-waste-to-value conversion cycle within local carbon-sheds. The resulting multiple bottom-line benefits accrue locally across the economy, environment, and people.

Community-based carbon sequestration works in the manner of local food, farmers’ markets, or CSAs. Our projects close the carbon cycle by transforming local green waste into renewable energy, with long-term sequestration of carbon in the soil via the addition of our biochar to the composting operations at local gardens or farms.

Community gardens and regenerative agriculture farms are an integral part of the process. Via our fundraising activities and the sale of climate products from our website, we are able to provide the biochar to the community gardens free of charge. Contact us if you would like to become a recipient.

Our hope is that the growth and expansion of our projects worldwide can become a significant part of the urgent effort to reduce the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere, helping to prevent the imminent tragedy of run-away global warming.
